What have I been up to?

hello!!

I have neglected my scrappy blog over the past year! It is because I had another crafty venture that kept me busy... I was making girls tutus and hair accessories for sales. I loved it but I decided that my heart is not in it as much as paper crafts and it neglected my scrappy passion. So I am going to share the prijects I have worked on over the year but did not blog. My scrappy mojo is back and I will share those projects later today :-)

One happy tutu customer!
I hosted a baby shower at work...handmade the banner...
Made a onesie book for all guests to give well baby wishes and baby tips :-)

Over 2014 I participated in many craft shows selling my bows!

I have been busy...I am so excited to be scrapping and paper crafting more! I will post my scrappy projects later today.. Talk to you soon!

My First Canvas

What can I say I Love Art!! I wanted to try painting for quite sometime. My friend bought a condo and talked about needing wall art so I saw a perfect opportunity! This canvas was covered in liquitex sand medium.. Then I used Martha Stewart paints to do the blue ombré finish. I loved the result and so did he :)

Furniture Refinishing

I started another hobby! I love making old or not so fashionable pieces into beautiful furniture in my home. Project number one was an old computer table.. The paint was so bad it scratching off! So I sanded and painted the first coat in black (from home depot ) then I mixed a coat of black paint, plaster of Paris and water to make a grey white wash.. When try I distressed the edges with sand paper and added a coat of wax.
The second project I bought on super clearance at target. It was a mustard yellow– yuck! It had some dings I just used the power sander and it was ready to paint. I painted black.. Distressed the edges and waxed.. I love the new look!!

First design team application and lessons learned

I love crafts so much it sometimes takes over my world lol! I make girls hairbows and tutus, home decor and paper crafts. I sell my hairbows but I lost the joy of it. Its no longer fun, its stressful. I havent had as much time to give to my first passion of paper crafts. I saw a design team call for Jillibean Soup (products I adore)...I tried but I see things I could have done better. I didnt make the team :( but I see ways to improve and make it my goal to keep trying and improving.

Here are the things I see in my work that can improve for the next application:

  • Create a photo box for better pictures
  • Create more projects for my blog
  • use the most current supplies for the team I am applying for
Here are my submissions, please feel free to give feedback as this is a learning experience for me, Have a Great day!

From scraps to pretty art

I just love the look of layering different papers and embellishments! I used scraps of MME paper and a clearance pack of die cuts from Micheal's to whip this sweet card together in minutes. I had this pack in my stash for a long time...Love it...so I urge you to use your scraps and stash to make something pretty! Have a great Sunday!
